kites & bacon

Olivia was so excited to get her own real kite this week. She was in the backyard for quite awhile waiting for the gusts of wind to blow it up.

It was so exciting for her when her kite would fly "so high." (Actually, I had to tape the string off so it would only go about six feet high since we have power lines overhead.)
The reason this was so exciting for her: Olivia has been making her own kites for the last few months (from paper, popsicle sticks and curling ribbon) and always wondered why they never worked.

As far as I can remember, this is Carter's first time falling asleep during dinner. This "no nap" transition is a hard thing most days for him. Especially since he is still usually awake for the day by 5:30am.

Just a goofy boy that wanted to wear his swim trunks in the bath tub.
A quick Carter story:
Carter was asking me this week why Daddy had to go to work. I told him it was so Daddy could bring home the bacon. He looks at me surprised and asks, "turkey bacon?" Carter loves his turkey bacon!

How cute! What a cute girl you have. I loved the bacon story. Allie did the same thing about a year ago. I told her the same thing about her dad, but her response was, "I don't like bacon." AND...congrats to your husband on finishing school. That has to be a great feeling!

Glad you had a good visit with Jason and Diana and kids. They were excited about their trip when they came home.

Glad the cousins get the chance to know each other better.

Aaron, I'm soooo very proud of you, Son. You are diligent and I'm sure it will pay off for you and Shayleen.

Always seeing all the pictures posted! Olivia and Carter are just the cutest kids! And I'm not even prejudice! lol

Love you all,
