Finally!

I finally got to do two things that I've been wanting to do for over a year now:
1. We FINALLY got to go to the Columbus Temple...There are always alot of obsticles in the way of getting there when you live 2 hours from it and have young children. It was a beautiful day and Aaron was quite the photographer.
2. Visit Tonya (Clarine) Butterfield - One of my very best friends (and neighbor) from my teenage years.
I learned a few years ago that Tonya (along with her adorable family) would be moving just a few hours from where we would end up living too. Well, we have been living just a few hours from each other for over a year now and we FINALLY got to see each other.
Carter was being quite photogenic himself.

It was great to be there, as it always is.

I didn't have as much time as I would have liked to chit-chat with Tonya, but the kids welcomed the time out of the van...it's a long drive there and back.

Thanks for the fun time swimming Ton'

Happy Birthday Aaron!

We didn't do anything big to celebrate. (Aaron has been getting his birthday presents for the past month from everyone.) Just the usual birthday stuff. Olivia was excited to show her daddy the card that she made for him though. The home-made sesame chicken and peanut butter bars were yummy too (if I do say so myself). We love you Aaron! You are a great husband and daddy!

Visitors from the South

Aaron's parents were able to come and visit this past weekend for Carter's birthday (and just because we hadn't seen them in awhile). The weather was so hot that it made it difficult to get out and play. Carter also came down with a temperature which put a damper on things too. Nonetheless, we had an enjoyable visit staying home most of the days (and shopping, of course).
Carter had just gotten his 1-year immunizations and they made him really tired. Good thing that Papa's shoulder was close, convenient, and comfortable.

Olivia got the star treatment. Grammy spent time to do an excellent job of painting her tiny fingernails and toenails. She even got jeweled stickers on them. Thanks Grammy.

Saying "Goodbye."

Thanks for taking time to come and visit us Kirk and Vicki. We enjoyed your company and look forward to future visits.

Happy Birthday to Carter!

It's always crazy to see how much they have grown in a year.

Olivia is very excited to show off the cupcakes she helped make for Carter's birthday.

We could have forgone the presents that actually cost more than $1 and just gotten a few more balloons. (The one sock is because he has a burn on his foot - trying to keep it covered. Oh, and if I put two socks on, he slips and falls on the wood floors.)

Carter loves his new yellow soccer ball from Grammy & Papa (they flew all the way up from Atlanta for the occasion). Carter is also excited to try on his new shoes. He's always trying to put on ours.

Olivia thinks she helped Carter blow out his candle (but in fact, neither one of my kiddies can blow out a candle).

Digging in to his cupcake!

After he smashed his cupcake all up (I think he took a few little bites), he was ready for bed.

But wait! There's icecream? Oh, that's worth staying up for!

Carter in his "new" (hand-me-down) carseat. He grinned the whole way to church because he could face forward.
