Aspiring Olympians

The Olympics are making my kids do crazy things. They are definitely aspiring Olympians!

Synchronized diving (on the edge of the couch).

Gymnastics - floor routine. Yes, there was injury.

Carter's couch routine.

Look at that form!

Wow. That's all. Wow! (What is that?)

Does anyone have a good idea on how to get crafty with making our own gold medals?

I've been surprised at how much our kid's have loved the Olympics too! I must say, I am impressed with their techniques! (You can actually get the gold medals at Party City, maybe even the dollar store...that's my way of "crafting"!)

I love the Olympics. When I was a kid, I used to "play Olympics" too. I would swing on the hammock and jump off and try to stick the landing, then put my arms up like the gymnasts do. Then when I was a little older (11) we moved to a house with a pool and diving board. I would do dives and my mom would rate them.

As you could tell from today, my kids are in the Olympic spirit too. Only they like to practice on paved sufaces, ouch. I always remember the ones made with aluminum foil. I remember an office episode with homemade medals, I should watch it again and let ya know what they did.

I also have some aspiring Olympians at my house. It's so fun for them to watch this on TV.

Of course The Office Olympics (from the TV show) comes mind. Remember when Pam made medals from yoplait lids and paper clips? I don't know how safe they would be, but they're cheap!

I have also made gold 'medals' from my students with small plastic gold colored plates from the party store.

Good luck to Team Lunt!

That is so cute that they are trying to copy the events. Gavin is liking them also. I keep finding him looking at the tv when the olympics are on.
