Random stuff:

Carter has been potty trained for about five weeks now. ha! He does love to sit on the potty though!

Olivia LOVES to hide whenever I leave the room or whenever she hears the garage door go up and Aaron gets home. When she found this new hiding spot, it actually took me more than .5 seconds to find her.

Olivia also loves to style my hair. "The more accessories the better" must be her motto.

Aaron's favorite shirt of Carter's.

I told Aaron we needed a new paper shredder since I cleaned out the filing cabinet this week and so this is what he did...Using the lighter as the poker and all.

Do you think she's excited for this treat?

Do you notice anything different in this picture? Yep! I've started wearing blush! Oh...and I guess something else is different too...

10+ years later

Earlier this week I got to hang out with my best friend from High School. How fun is that? In honor of the get-together, I just had to go through some OLD photos and post some. (You don't mind, do you Tonya?)

She's always surrounded by the funnest people! (March 1996)

On our way to EFY! (July 1996)

Girls night out. If memory serves me right, we were only going to dinner...anything to draw attention to ourselves. (January 1997)

From then (1996)...

'Til now...

Tonya and I spent our High School years growing up across the street from each other in good ol' PG, Utah. Now we've both moved to the other side of the country, but fortunately only live a few hours from each other.

I didn't do a good job of getting pictures of her children while we hung out, I apologize.

Carter and Olivia loved playing with Branson, Lizzy and even Abby!

Even though the day started off as a roller coaster ride, we really had a great time.

Kinda like this:

Thanks for making the trek to Cincinnati Ton'!

A "cheesy" Easter

We had a good Easter holiday. We started last Sunday by coloring Easter eggs:
You'll notice that this is only the beginning of Carter's "cheesy" face. He now "cheeses up" anytime a camera is pointing at him.

While we let the eggs brighten, we enjoyed Oreo's and milk...Carter's first time with Oreo's. I'm not sure if he liked them...ha!

Yup, good and bright!

One of the few times Olivia and Carter played good together this week. It only lasted for five miliseconds though.

Yesterday we enjoyed a great Easter egg hunt (more of an egg gathering...you could have laid a basket on the ground, dragged it a few feet and scooped up a lot of eggs)! Over 1000 eggs and around 30 kids! Olivia would pick up one egg, open it and ask if she could eat that piece of candy before moving on to pick up another egg. I had to give her a quick explanation on how it all works and then she understood that if she waited to eat the candy, there would be a lot more to eat.

And Carter? Well, he enjoyed picking up sticks!

Olivia Look-alike Meter

I always thought Olivia looked more like Aaron. But I'll go with the Meter ;)

Carter Look-alike Meter

I tried Carter with three different pictures and each time the Meter said the same thing. Who knew? I always thought he looked more like me.

Olivia gives us laughter

I've been feeling like I take a lot more pictures of Carter lately and I think I know why. Since the kid can't talk, he's always doing cute stuff that I can catch on camera. Olivia on the other hand can most certainly talk (and talked quite clearly when she was younger than Carter) and so she's always telling/asking us funny things that I can't capture in a snapshot.

Examples:

*Yesterday as we were getting ready to come inside the house to warm up, Olivia asked me this as she was holding a large snow ball (much like the one in this picture): "Can I bring this inside?"

*I popped Footloose into the VCR the other day thinking I would sit back and relax (don't worry, I realized that Olivia is definitely not old enough for viewing that movie). If you remember, in the beginning of the show, John Lithgow (the town's minister) is giving a (very loud) sermon. Olivia was sitting by me and asked, "Why is he so mad?" and then asked, "Is that jail?"

*This one still gives me nightmares (& makes me chuckle). One morning I was back in the bedroom chatting on the phone when I heard a familiar chant coming from the TV out in the living room. I booked it down the hall and into the living room to turn off the TV and see Olivia standing in front of the TV with her arm pumping in the air yelling, "Jer-ry, Jer-ry, Jer-ry!"
I don't think she saw anything that the show is truly capable of and just so you know, I had it on Disney and Olivia changed the channel.

Spring is NOT on it's way

So much for me and all my wishing it were spring. It's okay though because one (last) big snow storm like this is kind of fun. It was even against the law for us to drive anywhere today because of all the snow we received yesterday and last night. From the moment Olivia had eaten breakfast, she wouldn't let up on going outside to play. So once again, we're out the door at a cold and slightly windy 9:30am.

I made the kids wait (I know, I am a mean mom) until Aaron was done shoveling walks so that he could play with them. Carter waited so patiently.

No, Carter couldn't walk in it. He can barely stay upright in his snowsuit while he's inside the house, let alone in a foot of snow.

When Carter woke from his afternoon nap, I thought I would go out and play with the kids again. I mentioned this to Carter and he ran straight to the door and put on Aaron's gloves.

Aaron wanted me to measure the depth...11 inches in about 30 hours.

Nope, Olivia couldn't walk in it either. She could crawl...very slowly through it though.

Carter and his "snow shovel" helping Daddy.

An Olivia-sized snowball.

Don't worry, we did warn her of yellow snow...we have 5 dogs that live next door ;)

I sure got my money's worth when I bought that doctor kit at a yard sale for $1! Carter is checking out Daddy's heart rate after shoveling all that snow!

Congratulations to Cheril & Justin on their 3rd baby girl! Natalie Darlene Lunt born on Friday! We look forward to meeting our new cousin/niece!

I've got to get outta this house

I am ready for SPRING! Last week it hit me...I was feeling down...from all the winter weather and being inside so much. Aaron got home from work on Friday evening and I told him that we had to do something different tomorrow. (Aaron loves to stay home on Saturdays because he never gets to do that.) So, Saturday morning we took the kids to the Children's Museum for a few hours. They loved it.
This grocery store was one of Olivia's favorites last time we came (when Carter was a newborn). I think she has some new favorites though now.

Like dumping loads of (sponge) rocks into the dump truck.

And hammering nails into the building. I know, Olivia doesn't look too excited in this picture, but she played at this station the longest.

Carter enjoyed everything we did there. He loved seeing the big fish until Daddy teased that they might eat him (he wanted nothing to do with the fish after that). He was also caught being the "sand bully" at the sand box play area. He was the kid throwing sand all over this time.

Olivia loves to pretent we're having parties at our house. On Saturday night, she made flowers for "the party."

Olivia wanted to play doctor at her party and she was a bit confused when I told her to wear her new doctor's hat.

I guess we should have just had a Dr. Seuss birthday party.
